Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up,  transfer to the hotel – Birding in Mabamba
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet the driver guide from Engagi Safaris who will be there to welcome you. Meet, greet, and briefly go through the itinerary introducing you to what you should expect on this 11 days safari. You will then transfer to the hotel for refreshment. Later in the day, go for an experimental bird-watching tour to see the famous shoebill stork in Mabamba swamp. The cruise on a canoe through the swamp offers you a close encounter with the majestic shoebill alongside other birds such as the night heron, Yellow-billed duck, Blue Turaco , Little egret and double toothed barbet among others. Dinner and overnight at Victoria Rock Resort
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After morning breakfast, check out and embark on a drive headed to Kibale Forest National park, the “Primate Capita “ of Africa. You will have a lunch stop in fort portal and then proceed to the Park arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Lodge
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland Walk
Wakeup for an early morning breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information Centre where registration and briefing on the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking take place. You will be out together with other travelers present and in your group of eight allocated a chimpanzee community to trek. The hike into the jungle starts at 8:00am and can take between 2-6hours . Spend an hour in the company of chimpanzees as you learn and embrace their human behaviors. You may also encounter other wild animals and birds which live there. In the evening, you will visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary, a home to numerous birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Kibae Forest Lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth & Boat cruise
After morning breakfast, you will check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National park, the second largest and popular National Park in Uganda. Arrive in lunch time, check in your lodge and refresh. In the afternoon, go for a bat cruise at Kazinga channel which reward you with great views of the calm waters, r wild water animals and birds on the river banks. Overnight at Katara Lodge
Day 5: Game Viewing & transfer to Bunyonyi
Go for early morning game viewing experience in the open savannahs of kasenyi. The guided game drives offer you magical views of wild animals such as Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, Uganda Kobs Waterbucks Warthogs, and impalas among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast. You will the drive out of the park via Ishasha home to the famous tree climbing Lions. Have late lunch enroute as you connect to Lake Bunyonyi. Embark on a boat cruise to enjoy the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi , the second deepest Lake in Africa. The boat cruise offers you scenic views of farmlands, rolling hills and local homesteads of Bakiga. Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking
You will start your day with an early breakfast and thereafter head to the park headquarters for briefing on Gorilla trekking rules. You will then be divided in groups of 8 and soon hit the jungle in search for habituated Gorilla groups. This wild experience involves hiking through thick undergrowth in the mountains and soon after meeting the Gorillas, you will be allowed for a full hour with them as you take pictures and observe their behavior. Return to the starting point and head to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla lodge.
Day 7: Golden monkey trekking
Your day starts with a tasty breakfast at the lodge, set off for Mgahinga Gorilla Park where the Silver meets the Gold. Â You will immediately join other tourists for briefing before heading out to the park to meet the Golden Monkeys. Trekking the Golden monkeys is quite tiresome requiring you to have some level of fitness to make it much easier for you. After meeting the Golden monkeys, you will be allowed to be with them for one full hour as you get to know more about their behavior in their natural habitat. Return to the starting point after this overwhelming experience and meet your guide to take you for lunch. If time allows, you will engage in a cultural tour visiting the Batwa people. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Bukavu City in Democratic Republic of Congo
Have a relaxed breakfast and start the drive headed to Bukavu city in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Day 9: Lowland Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Have an early morning cup of tea and transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park to trek the endangered eastern lowland gorillas. The experience offers you chance to encounter the largest gorilla species in their natural habitats. Spend time with these magical apes, learn their behaviors and have fun with them. Later in the day, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park for overnight at Nyungwe Hill Top View
Day 10: Monkey trekking & transfer to Kigali
Today is for trekking various monkey species in Nyungwe Forest National park. The experience exposes you to various monkey species which live in Nyungwe Forest. These include Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Olive baboons, Red tailed Monkeys, Blue monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys and L’hoest monkey among others. Later in the day, transfer to Kigali city for dinner and overnight
Day 11: Kigali city tour and departure
Have breakfast and go for a city tour to Kigali genocide memorial centre, Kigali convention Centre, Inema art gallery, Kimironko market, and the presidential palace among others. You will the drive to Kigali airport for your departure flight
