Day 1- Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1- Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park
You will either be picked up from Kanombe International Airport (Depending on your time of arrival) or be picked up from your Hotel in Kigali and be transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, visit the old King’s Palace in Nyanza. Have lunch and after proceed with your journey to the Park. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House/Nyungwe Forest Lodge

Day 2- Forest walk in Nyungwe
After a fully served breakfast, you will set out with your packed lunch for a full day forest guided walk with in Nyungwe Forest National Park. On this long walk, you will visit the Kamiranzo water falls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch from. On this walk expect to see a lot of bird species and also primates like monkeys. Return back to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House/Nyungwe Forest Lodge House

Day 3- Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest and transfer to Kibuye
Breakfast will be served early morning and after you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing at 6:00am. Unlike other countries like Uganda where chimpanzee tracking activity starts at 8:00am, here in Nyungwe forest National Park the activity starts at 6:00am. You will enter into the forest when its dark but you will be able to see primate species such as Colobus monkeys, forest birds and later, you will be able to see the chimpanzees when its already day time. Return to your lodge after the tracking for Lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Kibuye town for dinner and overnight in Kibuye Guest house /Hotel Centre Bethanie.

Day 4- Boat ride and transfer to Ruhengeri
After breakfast, you will take a short boat ride on Lake Kivu and visit the different fishing villages. Return for a pleasant and fasnating lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to Ruhengeri town. You will pass through magnificent views of the beautiful, hilly countryside which gives Rwanda its name as “a country of a thousand hills”. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge

Day 5- Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning you will have breakfast at the Lodge and then later be transferred to the Park Headquarters of Parc National des Volcans. You will meet your ranger guides here who will briefly guide you on how to behave while in the forest searching for the Gorillas and also will let you know more about their behaviours and ways of life before you set off. After the briefing you will enter into the forest and search for these endangered rare mountain Gorilla species. This is a once a life adventure and an opportunity one should never miss in life. Some time the Terrain is rough and muddy and this means that you as gorilla trekkers, you have to be strong enough and also physically fit. The activity will take like 4 to 6 hours and therefore you are advised to go with your packed lunch. Return back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Nest Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge

Day 6- Transfer to Kigali
In the morning you will transfer to the park headquarters to be briefed before going for golden monkey tracking or head to Karisoke research centre for Dian Fossey hiking. You will later transfer go for a cultural walk in the banyarwanda community, Dinner and overnight stay at your previous lodge.

Day 7- Transfer to lake Kivu and Kigali
After breakfast, you will depart for Kigali. Upon arrival in the city, you will take a short city tour and visit places like the Genocide Memorial sites, Local African markets, handcraft shops, shopping malls for simple shopping and many more. Later you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home.
