Brief Itinerary
Day one: Drive From Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park
Day Two: Morning Game Drive, Visit hot springs and Cultural tour
Day Three: Morning Game Drive and later Transfer from Kidepo to Kotodo
Day Four: Transfer to Morroto for Mt Moroto Nature Walk
Day Five: Game Drive in Pian -Upe after transfer to have a night in Sipi Falls
Day Six Sipi Falls Tour
Day Seven: White water rafting after transfer back to Kampala
Detailed Itinerary
Day one: Drive From Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park
The Journey will take 7 to 9 hours drive through Karuma- Gulu -Kutugum and then to Kidepo over night Kidepo is the only place in Uganda to see the Cheetahs and Ostriches. Apart from that, the park is well known for large Buffalo herds, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebra, Lions, Jackals, Leopard, Patas monkey, Hyenas, Mountain reedback, Eland, Orbi, Jackson’s Haarbeest, Lesser Kudu, Uganda Kob, Caracal etc. in total, Kidepo national park has 77 mammals.The park is also blessed with over 470 bird species.
Day Two: Morning Game Drive, Visit hot springs and Cultural tour
Morning set off for a game drive in the northern track, searching for ostriches and cheetahs. We proceed to Kanangorok hot spring which is near to the South Sudan border. We cross the kidepo river which had lots of birds and wild game to see. Lunch. Afternoon we depart for a cultural village tour. A guided cultural village tour of the Karamajong people whose culture is very similar to the famous Masai nomadic pastoralists. They live in a community with several homesteads (manyattas) kraals of cattle, a big highlight of the Karamajong culture tour is the “Karamajong traditional dance”, a very energetic and lovely dance. Day Three: Morning Game Drive and later Transfer from Kidepo to Kotodo Do a second game drive for animal Viewing, transfer to kotodo evening Visit Nakapelimoru Village a home to Jie Clan of karamajong overnight in Kotido
Day Four: Transfer to Morroto for Mt Moroto Nature.
Walk early morning we leave for a scenic walk through the lush valley of Mt Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja. During the walk we will interact with the So Tepeth mountain people. Authentic Karamojong Village Experience After lunch we set off to an authentic Karamojong village where you will immerse yourself in the daily life of the community like participating in traditional games, daily activities as preparing staple foods, harvesting, beading, learning, dance, how to shoot bow and arrow and traditional friendly wrestling. After continue to have a night in Pian Upe Natinal Reserve.
Day Five: Game Drive in Pian -Upe after transfer to have a night in Sipi Falls
Pian Upe is Uganda’s second largest protected area bordering various mountain ranges and water bodies. This makes it a birding hotspot, home to endemic wildlife species like the Roan Antelope and archaeological site for rock paintings some of the other wildlife in the reserve include: giraffes, lions, leopards, Zebras, buffaloes plus more wildlife. The reserve is also a good place for Uganda birding safaris considering the array of the amazing bird species that reside in the reserve. Some of the birds include: the Ostrich, the Jackson’s Hornbill, the white-headed buffalo-weaver plus more. These birds can best be viewed in a swamp called Loporokocho. The game reserve also harbors various species of primate like the vervet monkey and the extinct olive baboons. After the game viewing transfer to
a have a night in sipi falls.
Day Six: Sipi Falls Tour
On reaching Sipi town you will rewarded with magnificent views of the Karamoja plains.Early in the Morning after breakfast a local guide will meet you and brief you about the hike to the last of the three Sipi waterfalls. Sipi Falls is a hiker’s paradise waiting to be explored. you will start yourwalk down to the falls through local communities. On your journey, you will pass through lush farms, coffee plantations and homes. After noon transfer to have a night in Jinja.
Day Seven: White water rafting after transfer back to Kampala
Early morning breakfast, transfer to the starting point for white water rafting. There you will be taken through a session of exercises and tips to ensure safety during the adventure. Embark on the boat to hit the rapids of the mighty River Nile. Depending on your experience on water, choose which grade of rapids, grade 3 or grade 5
rapids. The experience is challenging for first times but thrilling to last for a life time. After transfer back to Kampala en route visit source of the Nile the world’s longest river and sezibwa falls.
