ACCOMMODATION IN KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Kidepo Valley is a hidden treasure perched in the northeastern part of Uganda surrounded by Mountain Kadam and Morungole bordering South Sudan. The park covers an area of 1,442 km2 and the least visited parks because of its remoteness, however it has started to pick up and quite a number of tourists are booking safaris to this destination. Most of them prefer to fly to the park because of the long journey however use road transport to get the best views along the way with stopovers at Sipi falls, Mountain Elgon National Park, Pian Upe Reserve and Nyero Rock Paintings. The park is endowed with a number of unique animals and birds which can be seen in the dry savannah plains. The Birds; the Kori bustard, Abyssinian ground hornbill, secretary bird, ostrich, carmine, Yellow-billed and Jackson’s hornbills etc. Not forgetting the beautiful eye-catching sceneries with background drops of the domed hills. The camp offers an exclusive true bush breakfast experience, delicious dishes both local and continental not forgetting the experienced professional staff. Apoka Rest Camp
This camp is owned by Uganda Wildlife Authority located at the park headquarters. It is a pocket friendly accommodation with self- contained, non-self-contained and camping ground for those who carry their own tents and beddings. The camp doesn’t have a restaurant, travelers carry their own food and pay the cooks at the park.
Other accommodations include; Kara-Tunga safari camp and Kakine Self-Catering Campsite.
