ACCOMMODATION IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK
Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s famous and most visited game reserve, covering an area of 1,510 km2 (580 sq mi) with preserved savannah wilderness in Narok County southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Masai Mara is an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing. The National Reserve is best known for its large concentrations of big cats, such as leopard, cheetah and, of course, lion. Even the dramatic arrival of the Annual Migration merely adds to an already abundant resident wildlife that awaits discovery.
When planning a trip to Masai Mara, where to stay should not be your worry, the park has many accommodation facilities ranging from luxury, midrange, and budget. However, there are mostly luxury facilities that provide the highest level of comfort and quality service.

Leopard Hill Camp.
It is one of the most luxurious and modern camps situated in the center of Masai Mara’s wilderness. Where you get up close to the animals as you chill at the tent deck. It has a spacious lounge tent attached to the dining area. Well- stalked bar and library with interesting safari books. The lounge tent is built on leveled terraces, offering cozy spots by the fire to enjoy the vastness of the African wilderness. Breakfast can be served in your tent dining, outside the tent or in the bush. Picnic or dining dinners are served to give you delicious international or local dishes depending on what you prefer. It is a memorable time of the day while at the camp.
Mara Explorer exclusive camp
This five-star camp with 10 luxurious and spacious safari tents displaying a private view of River Talek’s southern bank which has plenty of wildlife. Seven of the tents have comfortable queen size beds, while three have twin beds wall with Victorian claws bathtub offering private open-air bathing and a unique feeling of the African bush.
The strategic location of the camp makes gives a wonderful experience of game viewing. The tents have been strikingly designed with a see-through of the tent on one side of the deck which enables you to see the sky.
Sand River Masai Mara Lodge
Nestled on the banks of River Mara with a concealed and picturesque area that clones a pinnacle of glamorous permanent tented camps that dates back in the late 1920s.With carefully crafted interior designs, interior fixtures, and furnishings which displays a clear structure of African adventure. Not forgetting the exceptional standards of service delivered by professional staff. The lodge consists of 16- luxury tents which include; 1 family tents each separated into two with different dinning and toilets to ensure privacy. Single, twin/double and triple-decker tents.
The Olare Mara Kempinski
Discover the theatre of the African Wild at the lodge which is situated in the middle of the Masai Mara. It offers you a pure luxurious stay in their exclusive tents. It is encompassed by bowling savannah plains, where the elusive wildlife roams. Their lushness tents hail at you with coherence and impishness of the eminent Masai culture. Comprising of twelve tents, a central lounge and dining area, a tented bar set deep within a forested glade and a shaded swimming pool. Hammerkop Migration Safari Camp
Located just right in the center of Masai Mara National Reserve in an isolated area away from the congestion and human noise pollution. You will only be feed with animals and bird sounds as they wander nearby the lodge. It is set on an oxbow of the legendary Mara River, surrounding it except for the short opening that acts as the entrance to the premises. A number of hippo pools, wildebeest crossing just 200 meters from your tent. Made up of 7 luxurious self -contained tents with a simple unique setting. Separate bathroom providing a hot water shower, hand washes basins and flushing toilet. The distance between each tent has been considered to improve their privacy and views over the Mara River and the distant Soit Oloololo escarpment.
The camp offers a true bush experience with a very private atmosphere and personalized service with staff always on hand to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Meals are served in the lounge tent, and on occasion are interrupted by a herd of elephants walking past. Dinner is at its best under the display of stars.
The Governors’ Il Moran Camp
It is nestled in a wooded section of the park on the Mara River that attracts lots of wildlife and birds. It has a rich history, this site was given to the governor of Kenya and his royal guests during the colonial times. Currently, 3 luxurious tented camps exist; The other three Governors ‘Camps are The Governors’ Main Camp, Little Governors ‘Camp Governors’ Private Camp.
The Governors’ Il Moran Camp comprises ten en-suite spacious, elegant and comfortable safari tents built with a toilet, water heater showers, and cold water supply each with a private veranda with authentic furniture. An excellent river view gives you a great feel of nature as you see the crocodiles and hippos sunbathing. The evening campfire, the facility is child-friendly with children’s amenities. Available credit card facilities for those who do not travel with cash. There is a phone in the tent to reach out to the room service. Well trained standby professional safari guides and craft gift shops which sell locally made products.
Paraffin and glass lamps are used in the tents during the night to provide light. A cup of coffee/tea welcomes you in the morning with an accompaniment.
Bateleur Camp
The camp is situated on the western border of the park. It is the best place to stay during the wildebeest migration season. It overlooks the savannah plains of the park right in the way of the greatest dramatic wildebeest and zebra migration from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The camp also lies at the base of the Oloololo escarpment just below the spot where Out of Africa’s most notorious scene was shot.
The facility has 9 spacious tents with a shingle roof, wooden doors, and a private deck.
Each tent is luxuriously furnished with gleaming wooden floors and wooden-framed beds, overhead fan, twin hand basins, flush toilet, shower, en-suite bathroom, cupboards, leather chairs, and writing table.

Sanctuary Olonana
The camp is located on the board of Masai Mara and Serengeti which has a high concentration of wildlife during the wildebeest migration, the action happens right on the camp’s doorstep. It is an award-winning tented camp on a private stretch of the Mara River, at the foot of the impressive Siria Escarpment close to where the famous last scene from “Out of Africa” was filmed. The Camp consists of 14 en-suite spacious tents with floor to ceiling mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, flush lavatories, solar lighting, and large, river view verandas. The Governors’ Private Camp
It is situated in a wooded section of the park on the Mara River that attracts lots of wildlife and birds. From Governors’ you can see the wild animals come to drink from the river, in short, a prime location. This breathes the atmosphere of an old hunting camp, where elephants and hippos walking through at night, grazing. Governors’ Private Camp consists of 8 luxurious, spacious tents, all with an en-suite bathroom with a bucket shower, and a private verandah with authentic furniture.
There is no electricity in the tents so in the evening the whole atmosphere and romantically lit by gas lamps and candles which contributes to a unique African ambiance. In the morning, guests wake up with coffee and tea, during which time the freshly baked loaves of bread and breakfast prepared. The food is excellent and the service is very high. Dine in the dining room or outside around the campfire. Possibly a bush picnic or barbecue is provided. It is a child-friendly facility with credit card facilities, phones in the room to reach room service, professional safari guides, craft, and gift shops.
Sentinel Mara Camp
The camp is isolated in the riverine forest so that you don’t know that you are approaching until you are actually in this gorgeous camp. 4 different eco-zones on our doorstep, with both the BBC’s Big Cat Diaries and Disney’s African Cats being filmed here. It is a season luxury camp along the banks of the Mara River, aspect of the camp with no permanent structures offers guests an experience of being authentically close to nature. It has felt is an extraordinary old fashion with only 7 en suite tents inclusive of family tents with the lounge and dining tents along the river in the forest offering excellent privacy. Specially designed campaign furniture adorns the camp creating the atmosphere of the traditional East African safari while at the same time affording a significant measure of luxury to guests. The tents are safe with hot safari, shower bucket showers, solar power, Wi-Fi you can also phone receptionists. The facility is child-friendly, eco-friendly and has professional safari guides,

Mara Bush Camp
The camp offers you everything desired in an “authentic safari experience”! Discreetly ‘tucked away’ in a riverine forest on the banks of the seasonal Olare Orok River with an excellent location close to Ol kiombo airstrip, it is situated in heart of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
All 12 riverfront tents have been placed far enough apart to guarantee complete tranquility and privacy. Fully furnished with a comfortable 4 poster bed (double/ twin available on request) mosquito net, en-suite bathrooms, and safari-style shower, clothes rack & storage chest, writing desk & private veranda.
Additional features are a comfortable Lounge and Bar Tent as well as a private Dining Tent where a selection of freshly prepared meals, mostly buffet style, is served by our in-house chef, who caters to all dietary requests happily. It is also a child-friendly facility with children’s amenities.
The chef will also ensure that picnic meals are readily available for all those who prefer to stay out in the bush all day long. For photographers, a separate Photo- Lounge to charge camera equipment and laptops has been set up. The little boutique shop compliments the set-up and one can purchase unique souvenirs to take home.

Mara Serena safari lodge

Accommodation
The Camp has a capacity of 5 tents, one Mess tent and a Lounge area. The tents are comfortable and spacious with en suite toilet and shower with views over the savanna.

The lodge offers traditional-style accommodation with a private patio. The property has an outdoor pool with a terrace and views of nature.
The spacious rooms have a ceiling fan, mosquito net, hypoallergenic bedding and a balcony with views of the garden, the pool or the reservation.
The Lodge houses the Hippo Bar, which serves traditional dishes and overlooks the lake, and The Elephant Deck Restaurant, where you can enjoy a typical savannah dinner.
The property has a 24-hour reception and a children’s playground. Guests can go on safaris through the Keekorok nature reserve.
Matira Bush Camp

Matira Adventure Camp
Matira adventure camp is more basic with 6 bush camp tents with comfortable double or twin beds. The adjoining bathroom is equipped with bucket showers, sink and flushing toilet.
The camp has campfire to enable the guest to settle comfortably evening by a campfire that exudes warmth and allows the magic of the African night with the sounds of the wilderness to become an experience.
Food
Matira Camp offers full board with breakfast, lunch and dinner and international cuisine with a regional touch. All meals are freshly prepared by the camp chefs and served in the dining tent or under shady trees and open sky. For whole day trips, we offer bush breakfast and bush lunch.
Ashnil Mara Camp
It a beautiful budget accommodation in the middle of the Maasai mara National Reserve, nestled amongst a small forest overlooking the Mara River approximately 45 minutes from Keekorok and 30 minutes from Olkiombo airstrip.
The Camp is best known for its stunning location, comfortable accommodation in the 40 luxury tents, excellent food and good services. They have 4 en-suite bedrooms that are furnished with amenities like Wi-Fi, shops, tent phones, credit facilities, and child-friendly that you will require for a comfortable stay in the Masai Mara. 2 bedrooms have king-size beds for sharing couples, and the other 2 bedrooms are furnished with 2 double beds. All the rooms have luggage wardrobes, mosquito nets, and en-suite bathrooms with hot water for showers. The bathrooms are furnished with a washbasin and flush toilet. They prepare delicious continental and pan African dishes to give you great taste as you enjoy your breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Mara Explorers camp and backpackers
Destiny Eco Camp is a classic budget tented camp with spacious safari tents. This camp is perfect for guests looking for a real wilderness experience within an affordable price range. Offering simple and comfortable accommodation including eight budget dome tents, five cottages, and two safari tents as well as having a large camping area if you come with your own tent. All the tents can either be sold as doubles, singles or twins depending on the client’s needs, but we can also, on a very special request, squeeze in a 3rd bed to make a triple tent. However, it highly discourages triple occupancy to avoid restricting the space within the tents.
Clean facilities with hot showers, cozy bar and dining area with freshly prepared meals for our full board guests. Our electricity is 100% solar with just a backup generator for bad weather days and a pet-friendly camp with cats and dogs living onsite.
The balcony is located on the first floor of the house, facing the Mara plains. If you are lucky, you may get a chance to view the resident herbivores like giraffe, zebra, gazelle, and impala right from the balcony. After an evening game drive, the balcony offers breathtaking views of the sun setting as you enjoy some evening snacks.
It is strategically located within the conservancy and the tents have been designed to have minimal impact on the local environment.
