Once you plan to visit Lake Mburo, there is a variety of accommodation facilities you can choose to stay in. They are strategically located within the savannah plains and on the rocky areas of the park. The facilities are designed in an ecological standard in order to preserve nature. They range from Luxury, Moderate, budget and campsites so as to fit in everyone’s pocket. While in any of these facilities you will feel at home and enjoy the wild in this beautiful endowed park. You can also pass through Lake Mburo and have lunch at one of these facilities on an en-route to Queen Elizabeth National Park or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for a gorilla safari.

LUXURY ACCOMMODATION

 Kimbla-Mantana Tented Camp

 It is a classic tented camp in the grand safari tradition positioned strategically on the side of Rwamahungu hill, overlooking the park and its surrounding eco-systems It is a peaceful area with great views of the lake and surrounding country. It is a small and intimate luxury camp, in a beautiful setting with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of plains game, it is an ideal place to enjoy the African wilderness and to start or finish a safari to Uganda.

It fits perfectly with the environment, the luxurious and spacious tents on wooden decks with their large bedrooms, en-suite facilities, and verandahs overlooking the lake and valley are complemented by a luxurious sitting room, bar and dining area.

Each of our nine guest tents is sent on wooden platforms with veranda, twin/double bedroom, dressing room, and en-suite bush shower and toilet. Hot water is provided in the dressing room and for the showers. All bedding and towels, soap, etc. are provided. Solar-powered lighting is fitted in the tents. The dining and bar facilities are also set on a raised wooden platform that provides stunning views of Lake Mburo. Meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen to the very highest standards.

The area around the lodge and tents is host to many resident zebra, warthogs, waterbuck, impala, buffalo, civet cats and prolific birdlife. An ideal place to relax with a cold drink after a hot and dusty game drive, a walking trip or a visit to the lake with its various activities.

Mihingo Lodge

It has magically setting adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park situated high on a rocky kopje. The lodge has spectacular views over a vast savannah landscape, designed to blend in with its fragile surroundings, this environmentally friendly lodge offers comfort, relaxation and the experience of being at one with nature. Mihingo is the only lodge in Uganda to offer daytime and overnight horse safaris into the national park.

An infinity pool overlooks the valley below where buffalo, eland, impala, warthogs, bushbuck, and zebra can be seen at the waterhole.  On the rocks, you may have the rare chance of seeing the resident family of Klipspringers and leopard (rarely). Mihingo Lodge has 12 luxury, tented rooms designed to provide guests with privacy and tranquility. Each room has its own unique charm and character, whether it is nestled in the forest, overlooking the lake, perched on a rocky outcrop or down by the water hole. Although no two rooms are the same. Each spacious canvas tent is equipped with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, showers, and flush loos. The rooms have been sensitively designed to complement the local environment with great attention to detail. The doorways are framed by stunning pieces of dead olive wood found on the land.

Mpogo Lodge

Two very private luxurious grass-thatched cottages with two rooms each, inbuilt showers rooms and toilets, at the topmost of the hill, which gives the clients a very spectacular view of the park.
The safari lodge is designed to make you feel at home in the neighboring wild. This heaven in the midst of the Ugandan wild is surrounded by astonishing views that are visible from every room. From the main dining area, guests can enjoy the view of the nearby wildlife as well as the stunning evening sunsets over Lake Mburo National Park.

 

Lake Mburo Safari Lodge

It is an eco- friendly lodge, which boasts of its excellent accommodations which comprise the main Lodge, cottages and honeymoon house all raised on a wooden platform and covered by a grass-thatched roof, perfectly blending with the natural environment, stylishly and thoughtfully designed for your absolute comfort, convenience, and pleasure.

Each is equipped with clean private bathrooms with hot showers and toilets, private balconies, handcrafted wooden furniture, comfortable king-sized beds, mosquito nets, and wardrobes all opening out to their private balconies. Some cottages have a full kitchen. All rooms are privately situated, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you.

10 luxury and spacious cottages (suites) have furniture in distinctive African style and luxurious bathrooms with hot water and a flushing toilet. Each cottage has its private balcony where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. The cottages can be booked with twin beds or a double bed and a third bed is possible.

The High-Class full-service Restaurant serves a wide variety of mouthwatering fine Ugandan and international cuisines. They can also prepare a special order dish with prior notice. Arcadia Lodge

Located 2km from the park headquarters at Rwonyo, Arcadia Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the park on a game drive, spot crocodiles and hippos on the launch trip or really get close to nature on a guided walking safari.

The eight self-contained cottages are arranged around a central lodge building, where guests can enjoy the tasty dishes in our restaurant or relax and take in the stunning view from our newly built raised deck.  In the evenings, guests can wind down from an exciting day’s safari around our open fire, sipping on a cold drink from the bar while impala, warthog and the occasional hippo munch on the grass just yards away.

Rwakobo Rock Lodge

This idyllic spot is situated just over 1Km from the Sahara Gate of Lake Mburo National Park. It is a peaceful and secluded retreat where you can breathe in the essence of the wild. Rwakobo lies on a scenic outcrop with breathtaking views. Animals such as zebra, warthog, impala, and bushbuck abound around the lodge and often congregate at the water hole beneath the dining area. At night the sounds of the bush come to life and allow your imagination to run wild.

It is made up of 8 comfortable and spacious cottages dotted around the hill, all very private and offering great sunset views. The main dining area overlooks an expanse of rock that adjoins the park. Whether you want to sit back, sip on an ice-cold drink in a hammock or head out into Lake Mburo National Park for a day of exciting exploration, there is something for everyone at Rwakobo. Rwakobo also offers mountain biking and caters for night drives, while the park can be discovered by vehicle, foot or boat. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the main lodge, from set menus to a buffet-style dinner. They also prepare an early breakfast or send you on your way with a packed lunch. The well-stocked bar provides a range of cold Ugandan beers and soft drinks as well as wine and spirits. Hot drinks for those rainy afternoons can also be requested from the bar. So please feel free to ask. No need to worry about you will also find charging stations, to ensure you are never running low on battery to capture that perfect picture. There is WI-FI connection that will help you share that perfect picture with the world.

Every night (weather permitting) the friendly Rwakobo staff stoke up a campfire so you can watch the sunset explode into a brilliant starlit sky.

BUDGET

Leopard Rest Camp

It is one of the perfect budget campsites for all your needs, situated just 1KM outside of the Nshara entrance gate. The camp offers a variety of accommodation, activity, and safari options for every type of traveler. Eco-friendly, family-friendly, and budget-friendly, welcomes groups of all sizes and has a spacious area for overland campers. You are guarantee you’ll leave here feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Accommodation with a view built on a high hill bordering Lake Mburo National Park, this tented camp has not only one of the best views in Uganda, and it is also the ultimate African canvas experience. Every safari tent has its own veranda, overlooking the park. The bathrooms are real bush-experiences the camp fills the shower upon your request and the toilet is a new eco-friendly invention. For dinner, they prepare a wood fire and use the big African potjies. The real Africa feeling.

Eagle’s Nest

It consists of 10 African safari tents with verandas overlooking Lake Mburo National Park. Each room is furnished with twin beds. Seated from your own veranda, you can enjoy an amazing view of the Lake Mburo. Aside from the main accommodation, Eagle’s Nest offers non-self-contained tents. These are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds with a bedside table and a power outlet for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are placed under a grass thatched roof which creates your private terrace and provides some welcome shade. The tents share a communal ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. No need to worry about linen as all bedding and towels are provided.

The reception, restaurant, bar building are located in the middle of the camp. While having your dinner you have an opportunity to hear the sounds of the bush: roaring lions, chirping crickets and grunting bush pigs. They prepare dinner the way they do in Southern Africa: potjiekos.
