1 Day Bwindi Gorilla Trek starting from Kabale/Lake Bunyonyi

Your day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or lodge in Kabale/Lake
Bunyonyi. Drive to the respective park headquarters for gorilla trekking registration and
briefing. The drive takes you through scenic highland landscapes, terraced hillsides, mist-
covered valleys, and rural villages coming to life with early morning activities. The journey
offers beautiful views of southwestern Uganda’s countryside, with chances to spot tea
plantations and local communities
Assemble at the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the dos and don’ts of
gorilla trekking. Here you will be asked to present a valid gorilla permit. You will then be
assigned to a specific gorilla family and grouped with a maximum of eight trekkers per
family. An armed ranger guide will lead your group into the forest. The gorilla trek begins as
you enter the dense rainforest of Bwindi, one of Africa’s most biologically rich forests. The
trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the movement and
location of the gorilla family.
After meeting the gorilla, you will be allowed one unforgettable hour in their presence.
During this time, you will observe the gorillas feeding, resting, grooming, and interacting
naturally. Enjoy seeing the silverback’s dominance, the playful juveniles, and the calm
presence of adult females creating a deeply moving wildlife experience. The allowed time
with gorillas is strictly an hour
Later, trek back, receive your trekking certificate and drive back to Kabale for overnight or
departure
