10 Days Chimpanzee Gorilla Golden Monkey Boat Cruise In Rwanda sees you to Akagera National Park where you will go for afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema expecting to see hippos, crocodiles and water birds. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival In Kigali
On arrival at the airport, you will be received by our company representative who will transfer you to Kigali Serena hotel /Flame Tree Village/ Garr hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer To Akagera National Park And Evening Game Drive
In the morning, you will set off a scenic drive to Akagera national park, reaching early for lunch at Akagera game Lodge. After lunch, go for afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles and water birds. Dinner and overnight at Rusizi Tented Camp (luxury)/ Akagera game Lodge (deluxe)
Day 3: Morning Game Drive And Afternoon Boat Cruise
Early morning, you will go for game drives up to the northern part of the park to catch up with early risers before they go into hiding. You will have chance to see lions, antelopes, giraffes, bush bucks among others. Return to the hotel for relaxation by 11:00am, and then lunch. After lunch, go for afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be rewarded with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species. Day 4: Transfer From Akagera To Nyungwe National Park.
In the morning, you will set off a long drive to Nyungwe National park. You will have en route stopover in Nyanza museum, Butare museum among other areas good for photography and adventure, as well as lunch. Reach Nyungwe in the evening for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forest Lodge/Nyungwe top view lodge/Gisakura hotel. Day 6: Canopy Walk, If In Uganda, Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning go for the breathtaking forest canopy walk; in case you are in Uganda, a morning game drive and the afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer To Volcanoes National Park
Early morning, enjoy a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park with stopovers for photography and lunch. Reach Volcanoes national park in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla view lodge/La palme hotel/Muhabura hotel.
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking
In the morning, you will go for pre tracking briefing at the park headquarters. Gorilla tracking may take 1-8 hours depending on the group you are allocated and the movement of the gentle giants the previous night. Stay in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of an hour before exiting the forest. In the afternoon, you may go for nature walks or cultural walk to the Ib’iwachu Cultural village. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Golden Monkey/Dian Fossey
This day, you will either go for golden monkey tracking or go for Dian Fossey hike at Karisoke research centre, where Dian, an American anthropologist spent years researching and conserving the gorillas before she was killed and buried next to Digit, a silverback gorilla. On return, transfer to Lake Kivu. Relax at the beach, dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu serena hotel/Stipp Hotel/Paradise Malahide.
Day 10: Boat Cruise And Transfer To Kigali
In the morning, you will enjoy a boat cruise up to the coffee island, and have a view of the sorrounding islands. On return, set off to Kigali, where you will reach early to have the necessary shopping. You will then check in your hotel or be dropped to the airport for your departure flight if it is on schedule.
