Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy introductory birding around the hotel gardens and nearby green areas where several common East African bird species can be observed.

Possible sightings include speckled mousebirds, superb starlings, variable sunbirds, African paradise flycatchers, weaver birds, and crowned cranes.

The remainder of the day is reserved for relaxation and safari briefing.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel through the spectacular Great Rift Valley toward Lake Naivasha.

The journey offers breathtaking views of escarpments, grasslands, and volcanic landscapes while providing excellent roadside birding opportunities.

Arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch before enjoying an afternoon birding excursion along the lakeshore.

Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya’s most productive freshwater birding destinations and supports more than 400 bird species.

Possible sightings include African fish eagles, pied kingfishers, great white pelicans, cormorants, jacanas, herons, and various waterbirds.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning boat excursion on Lake Naivasha.

The boat ride offers excellent opportunities to observe fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, herons, cormorants, and numerous shoreline birds.

Continue to Crescent Island for a guided nature walk and birding experience.

Return to the lodge for lunch before continuing with afternoon birding activities around the lake. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park.

The park is internationally famous for its birdlife and alkaline lake ecosystem which attracts thousands of waterbirds throughout the year.

Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon birding game drive.

Possible sightings include flamingos, pelicans, African spoonbills, yellow billed storks, crowned cranes, fish eagles, and numerous migratory species.

Lake Nakuru is also one of Kenya’s leading rhino conservation areas.

After breakfast, depart the Rift Valley and continue westward toward Kakamega Forest.

Kakamega Forest is Kenya’s only true tropical rainforest and represents the easternmost extension of the Congo Basin forests.

Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy introductory birding around the forest edge.

Possible sightings include great blue turacos, Ross’s turacos, blue headed bee eaters, hornbills, and forest flycatchers. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, spend the day birding within Kakamega Forest.

This remarkable rainforest supports more than 350 bird species and offers some of the finest forest birding in East Africa.

Possible sightings include Turner’s eremomela, blue shouldered robin chat, African broadbill, yellow billed barbet, crowned eagle, black billed turaco, and several forest specialists.

Apart from birdlife, the forest also supports monkeys, butterflies, and diverse plant life.

Lunch may be enjoyed at the lodge or as a packed picnic within the forest.

Return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, depart Kakamega and return to the Rift Valley, heading toward Lake Baringo.

Lake Baringo is one of Kenya’s most celebrated birding destinations and supports more than 450 bird species.

Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy an evening birding excursion around the lake shores.

Possible sightings include northern white faced owls, Verreaux’s eagles, hornbills, kingfishers, bee eaters, and numerous waterbirds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day birding experience around Lake Baringo.

The lake and surrounding semi arid habitats provide exceptional opportunities to observe species rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya.

Possible sightings include Hemprich’s hornbill, Bristle crowned starling, Jackson’s hornbill, pygmy falcon, African darter, Goliath heron, and numerous raptors.

A boat excursion on the lake further enhances opportunities for observing aquatic bird species and photography.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning birding and wildlife game drive within Masai Mara National Reserve.

The morning hours often provide excellent opportunities for observing active birdlife and wildlife before beginning the return journey.

After the game drive, return to Nairobi with lunch enjoyed en route.
