Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver guide and transferred to your hotel in Kigali.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a relaxed evening birding experience around the hotel gardens, nearby green spaces, or wetlands around Kigali where several urban and woodland bird species can already be observed.

Possible sightings include sunbirds, weaver birds, kingfishers, herons, cormorants, and various wetland associated species.

The evening is reserved for relaxation after your journey and preparation for the birding safari ahead.

After breakfast, enjoy morning birding around selected wetland and green areas near Kigali before beginning the journey southwest toward Nyungwe Forest National Park.

The drive passes through Rwanda’s scenic countryside filled with rolling hills, tea plantations, terraced farmland, and local communities.

Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests and one of East Africa’s leading birding destinations with more than 300 bird species recorded.

After an early breakfast, spend the entire day birding within Nyungwe Forest National Park.
