Our 12 days Gorilla Safari starts and ends in Kampala. The Safari includes 1 gorilla permit of $600 per person. The safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park in Western Uganda. This park has got over 340 mountain gorillas making it half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the entire world.

The safari also takes you to Murchison Falls which is famous for variety of wildlife and boat cruises, the game species in this park include; lions, elephants, bush bucks, antelopes, kobs, birds and many more. This tour also takes you to Queen Elizabeth famous for the Kazinga channel and many animal species including the tree climbing lions found in Ishasha sector of the park.

On this Safari you will also get a chance to visit Kibale National Park which is also famous for chimpanzee trekking and many other primate species including the golden monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many more. This wildlife safari will take you to Lake Mburo National park, this is the smallest park in Uganda and is famous for the Zebras and the Giraffes and many other animal species.

Tour Plan

After breakfast, depart to Murchison Falls National Park characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, many bird species and attracts many visitors who trek chimpanzees. Have lunch enroute. On arrival at paraa, take a trek to the “Top of the falls” after breakfast to the spot where the Nile plunges through a narrow gorge through the water’s edge trail giving a breathtaking sight. Cross by ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge on the northern bank of River Nile for dinner and overnight or Stay at Red Chilli Camp / Sambiya River Lodge / Nile River Camp

Wake up early for a morning game drive with opportunity to view giraffe, elephant, hartebeests, antelope, lion, Uganda kob and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch, and then take a launch cruise along the Nile River, one of the highlights of a visit to the park. Have a short trek at the Bottom of the thundering falls where you will view crocodiles, a variety of water birds like herons and Kingfishers, schools of hippos, elephants and buffaloes. Overnight Stay at Paraa Safari Lodge/Red Chilli Camp / Sambiya River Lodge / Nile River Camp

After early breakfast, drive to Fort portal with lunch enroute. You will travel through traditional homesteads and farms, driving along the scenic beauty of the Rwenzori ranges and the stretch of savanna grasslands. Overnight stay at Ndali Lodge / Primate Lodge / Fort Motel / Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Toro Resort.

After early breakfast to prepare you for the trekking experience, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre to trek habituated chimps. It’s a beautiful experience to watch them as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. This trek will give you a chance to view a wide range of primates, Birds and Butterflies through a network of shady forest trails. Overnight stay at Ndali Lodge / Primate Lodge / Fort Motel / Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Toro Resort

After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the mystical rwenzori mountains. Proceed to the Park with a variety of big game like; buffaloes, waterbucks, kobs, lions, warthogs, elephants, bushbucks. After lunch, drive to the dock for a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel with the largest concentration of Nile Hippos, a host of countless bird species, a rich variety of birds on the channel, crocodiles and water bucks. Over night at the Ecology Institute Hostel / Jacana Safari Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge (Full Board)

Rise early morning for a game drive with opportunity to view hippos, spotted hyenas, elephants, stripped jackal, lions, and leopards, bushbuck, water buck and warthogs. After lunch at the lodge, drive to Kyambura Gorge for an afternoon Chimpanzee trek experience. It’s a beautiful experience to trek a range of primates and Chimpanzees, and watch them as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. You will also have a chance to view and also trek a wide range of primates including the colobus monkeys, velvet monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys. Over night at the Ecology Institute Hostel / Jacana Safari Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge (Full Board)

Early morning after breakfast, set off with your safari guide for Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park via the Ishasha sector in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park, famous for the tree climbing lions. Continue to the home of the rare mountain gorillas. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)

After early breakfast, report to the ranger station before 8:00 am for registration and a short briefing by one of the rangers. You will then go through the dense rain forest parting thick creepers, to trek the gorillas. Enjoy the thrill of watching the gorillas grooming, feeding and playing delightfully. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)

After breakfast, depart from Bwindi with an early morning visit to the waterfalls to view a wide variety of birds and butterflies. Have lunch and continue to Kisoro. Overnight stay at Heritage Guest House / Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel.

After early breakfast, head to Mgahinga National park headquarters with your packed lunch. Have a short briefing prior to starting the short trek to one of the virunga ranges. Overnight stay at Heritage Guest House / Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel.

Have an early breakfast, and depart for Lake Mburo National Park, with a variety of interest and colour. Wildlife includes hippopotami and birds like the rare Shoebill Stork, African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle. Over night stay at Rwonyo Camp / Mantana Tented Camp.

After an early breakfast, take on a morning game drive providing an opportunity to view impalas, warthogs, elands, topis, waterbucks and zebras. Return for lunch and then proceed to Kampala. Transfer to your Hotel
