After breakfast, depart Kigali and begin the scenic journey southwest toward Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Arrive in the afternoon and continue with an evening birding game drive toward your lodge.

Akagera National Park supports more than 500 bird species and is one of Central Africa’s most rewarding wetland and savannah birding destinations.

Possible sightings include African fish eagles, grey crowned cranes, saddle billed storks, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, bee eaters, and several raptor species.

Wildlife sightings may also include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and antelope species.

After an early breakfast, spend the day exploring the wetland and lakeshore habitats of Akagera National Park.
