This 8 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari offers you a great opportunity to explore the hidden treasures of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park while tracking the rare mountain gorillas. This park straddles southwest of Uganda just at the extreme side of the Albertine rift valley. With about 1004 mountain gorillas that still thrive on earth, over 400 individuals call this park their home with approximately 16 groups that are readily available for you to track. The 331 square kilometer protected area isn’t only ideal for you to see these Great Apes in the wild but also offers you a golden opportunity to explore other incredible creatures that are inhabited in this park including over 163 tree species, 1000 flowering plants, 51 reptiles, 27 frogs, 140 fern species, 350 avifaunal species, 200 butterfly species a mention but a few. Besides having lifetime experiences with these dramatic creatures, you can also have a chance to engage in a number of exciting safari activities especially birding, cultural encounters, nature walks and many more.

Tour Plan

Pick from the airport and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park stop at the Uganda Equator where you witness the imaginary line that drives the world into two equal halves at this point you will stand in two sides of the world at the same time north and south, take pictures and then proceed with the journey of course with stopovers at interesting spots upon entering the park, You will check in the lodge dinner and overnight

You will wake up early morning for breakfast and go for a morning game drive Lake Mburo national park is endowed with lots of wildlife and bird expect to see but not limited to Elands, leopards lion antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, topis, warthogs, zebras, waterbucks, and impalas.  And many bird species other features to look during the game drive are the alluring beautiful sceneries, the parent rocks, and savannah. Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This boat cruise will get you to come face to face with the flora and fauna of this destination, along the banks of Lake Mburo, you will a see many animals that come to drink water. You will also see many hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, buffaloes, and over 3 types of otters that are found in the lake and many birds like malachite kingfishers, African Fish eagles, blue-headed weavers, Rufus, long-tailed starling, pied kingfishers, hammertoes, Herons, pelicans, the rare shoebill as well as the cormorants. Return to the lodge with an evening game drive,   other unique wildlife like leopards, bush babies and porcupines can also be viewed during this time dinner and Overnight

Morning nature walk in the park with armed guide with a close view of animals to Rwonyo salt lick you will find animals that are licking salty rocks you will also visit Rubanga forest known spot for bird watching unique birds in Rubanga Forest include grey baked Camaroptera, double toothed barbet, coqui francolin bare-faced go-away bird, Nubian woodpeckers, red-headed lover bird among others, forest unique tree species  you may also see hyena’s returning to their dens after hunting and hippos returning to water after grazing at night many other animals will be sported including the monkeys

OR do a horse safari, Horse riding safari is an amazing experience where you come very close to animals and nature game viewing without the sounds of the car engine is an extraordinary feeling where animals like zebras end Elands tend to come closer with curious sensation. Later transfer to Igongo cultural center visit the museum and learn about the Ankole culture lunch and later continue to Lake Bunyonyi area known as the Switzerland of Africa, Dinner, and Overnight

Breakfast early in the morning at safari lodge of your choice and after, join the rest of the visitors at your respective sector for morning briefing by one of the park officials. During the briefing, the park official will take you through the dos and don’ts to be observed while in the jungles tracking gorillas. Some of the dos and don’ts that will be briefed to you include no smoking, no eating in the forest, maintaining a distance of 7 meters at all times away from gorillas, no trekking gorillas while you are sick, Bwindi gorilla tours no flashlight cameras are allowed and if yours has flashlight, you are advised to turn it off while taking photos, only persons above 15 years are allowed to go for gorilla trekking. After, you will be grouped into 8 visitors and assigned only one habituated family plus a park guide who will take you through the entire trekking process. Upon getting your gorilla family, you will have only an hour of face to face encounter with the Great Apes, explore more about their general behavior, take as many photos as possible. The trek usually lasts for about 1-8 hours depending on a number of factors especially location of the gorilla family, nature of the habitat and your physical wellness after you will drive back to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxing in the evening or community visit depending on the time and if not tired

Early morning breakfast and check out of the hotel and drive to board a ferry and sail on Lake Victoria from Bukakata in Masaka until it lands at Lutoboka landing site in Kalangala drive/walk a few meters from the landing site along the beach and check into the hotel, dinner, and overnight If you are a music or party person there is normally club music with lots of drinks and fresh fish.

Wake up with great views of the white sand beach on Ssese Islands depending on your desire, you may take a forest /nature walk in Lutoboka Central Forest reserve, The forest is a medium-altitude forest lying on 378 hectares of land gazetted in 1948 and if you are a bird lover there are over 300 bird species and lots of primates in the forest, return to the hotel for lunch and relax by the white sand beach you can request to have your lunch by the beach

After break Fast head to the landing site and sail on Lake victoria again to Entebbe  (Nakiwogo landing site) the guide will pick you up and drive you to Entebbe tour you can visit the Entebbe zoo or Entebbe botanical gardens relax at the white sand beach, evening transfer to the Airport for the flight
