In October 2024, a group of LGBTQ+ activists and a city councilor from Cape Town traveled to Medellín, Colombia, to effectively represent the city in InterPride’s General Meeting.

What is WorldPride?

WorldPride is an international flagship Pride event that highlights human rights and celebrates LGBTQ+ pride every year in a different city.

This event is owned by InterPride, which also granted Cape Town the right to host WorldPride. InterPride has teamed with hundreds of pride organizations worldwide to participate in this event. InterPride’s core principles include kindness, boldness, diversity, multiculturalism, trust, respect, and accountability.

This organization was established to supervise WorldPrice 2028’s planning and implementation in order to guarantee efficiency and transparency.
