Safari in Details
Day 1: Pick up at Victoria Falls Airport & transfer to Hwange N/Park
(Zimbabwe)
Airport pick up will be at Victoria Falls Airport and you take a flight to Hwange
National Park. The 45 minutes flight takes you up to Hwange main airport where you
will transfer to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 2 &3: Explore Hwange National Park –(Zimbabwe)
You will have two days exploring wildlife in Hwange NP while on wildlife game
drives. Look out for predators and prey species. Hwange N/Park is the biggest park
in Zimbabwe, and holds a huge concentration of wildlife including impalas,
elephants, sable antelopes, buffaloes, roan antelopes, gemsbok and wildebeest.
Day 4: Lake Kariba visit
After breakfast, leave Hwange for Lake Kariba. This is the world’s biggest man-made
Lake and reservoir by volume. It has a surface area of 5580 sq.kms and possible
activities to engage in include fishing tours, walking, game viewing-while by car, on a
boat & on foot. Lake Kariba contains a large concentration of hippos, Nile crocodiles,
and on its shores, it attracts buffaloes, antelopes, lions, elephants, cheetahs and
birds.
Day 5-6: Explore & experience Lake Kariba
The 2 days of exploring Lake Kariba comes with plenty of exciting experiences
including fishing, game drive or walking tours –morning activities. In the afternoon
after lunch, head off for a short boat ride on the Lake crossing to the breathtaking
Sanyati Gorge. This gorge is endowed with birds and at times, it is possible to spot
some interesting antelope families.
Day 7: Transfer to Mana Pools
Depart Lake Kariba for Mana Pools- Zimbabwe tour. Mana Pools holds diversity of
mammal species and more than 350 bird species. It is also comprised of channels,
islands, oxbow Lakes and sandbanks. Mana Pools National Park is a rich wildlife
safari destination located on the Northern side of Zimbabwe. The wildlife species of
Mana Pools include elephants, crocodiles, crocodiles, 350 bird species, spotted
hyenas, lions, leopards, wild dogs and hippos, Impalas, waterbucks, zebras,
warthogs, and monkeys.
Day 8-9: Explore Mana Pools NP & its wildlife
After breakfast set off for the morning game drive/walk. In the afternoon, the second
phase of game viewing will be done and you will be viewing animals such as zebras,
impalas, warthogs, leopards, lions, hyenas, waterbucks, and others.
Day 10: Mana Main Airport for departure
Transfer to Mana Main Airstrip for connecting flight to Harare International Airport
and today marks the end of 10 Days.
