Which Animals Will You See on a Kenya Safari?

Hidden in East Africa lies the hidden jewel that is Kenya. Its soil contains some of the most breathtaking natural wonders on Earth.

Beaches, animal parks, thermal springs, rift valleys, and mountain ranges to die for! Tourists may discover tranquility, adventure, and, of course, wildlife in this nation whose varied landscapes are unlike any other on Earth.

We can’t guarantee that you’ll see every single species in Kenya, but we can guarantee that it will get fairly close. We know you’re probably wondering what to expect. On a safari in Kenya, we can show you where to see these incredible animals and answer any questions you may have about the local wildlife.

Elephant

Tourists love to see elephants, the largest mammals on Earth. You can see these social creatures splashing around in the water or nibbling on leaves from nearby trees; they live in groups.

You may find them in the Samburu, Amboseli, and Tsavo East National Parks.

Zebras

Zebras are a member of the horse family and come in three different species: the mountain zebra, the rare Grevy’s zebra, and the Plains zebra. The fact that the elusive Grevy’s zebra is endemic to just a small portion of northern Kenya makes the situation even more desirable.

Their one-of-a-kind patterns and hues are visually appealing and, like before, provide excellent photo opportunities on a safari. Visit Masai Mara National Reserve, Tsavo East and West National Park, or Lewa Conservancy if you would like to observe Grevy’s Zebra.

African rhino

Since it is one of the most threatened species in Africa, seeing a rhino is an absolute must. Poaching has caused their population to dwindle to an estimated 30,000 rhinos worldwide, with the vast majority residing in South Africa.

You must not pass up the chance to see a wild rhino; it is an experience you will never forget! To locate them, head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy or Lake Nakuru National Park.

Giraffe

A safari in Kenya isn’t complete without seeing the giraffe, the tallest animal on Earth. Beautiful and serene at all times, these majestic creatures are a favorite among sightseers; their large stature and comically jutting necks make them easy to spot.

They are located in Meru National Park.

Predatory herbivores

The Great Migration is a natural phenomenon in which vast quantities of wildebeest travel across Tanzania and Kenya. A migration safari is the best opportunity to witness nature in its most “cruel” and unadulterated state because zebras and wildebeests coexist and are both preyed upon by predators like lions.

You can find them in Amboseli National Park and the Masai Mara.

Buffalo from Africa

The African buffalo often live in huge herds that can reach thousands strong. Running alongside them across the sandy plains of Africa is an incredible sight—and a perfect subject for a photograph!

Their home is Amboseli National Park.
